Are you just getting started with Testmo and cannot add or access projects, or add any cases to your repository? No problem, see below how to adjust the wrong permissions. Still not sure? Please just email us.
By default for new projects, users are allowed to add test cases to project repositories. However, if a new project is added/configured with wrong permissions, you cannot add any cases. This is true even if you are a Testmo admin, as permissions still apply to you. To resolve this, follow these steps:
Go to Admin > Projects
Edit the project
Make sure Default access is set to Global role (recommended)
Or assign a role to the user or group for the project (learn more)
If this doesn't resolve the problem, please also ensure that the user has the Designer or Lead role assigned, as these allow adding and editing test cases.
Are you not a Testmo admin and cannot access the admin area? Please ask your Testmo admin to change your user role (to Designer or Lead) or ask your admin to review the project permissions.
You should be able to add new projects to Testmo, but don't have the permissions? Please ask your Testmo admin to make your user account is either a Project admin or Site admin. You need to be an admin to access the admin area and manage projects. This is still needed even if you have a user role such as Lead.
Ask your admin to go to Admin > Users & roles
Edit the user account
Change Access either to Project admin or Site admin (learn more)
You should be able to access projects in Testmo, but don't have the permissions? Please ask your Testmo admin to review the project permissions. If e.g. a project's access is set to No access, then no user can see the project unless access is assigned. This is true even if you are a Testmo admin, as permissions still apply to you. To resolve this, follow these steps:
Go to Admin > Projects
Edit the project
Make sure Default access is set to Global role (recommended)
Or assign a role to the user or group for the project (learn more)
